Ssekajja,

I am sorry for the old man; the Zimbabweans don't seem to care for old people. How can they over-work the old man when he should be sitting basking and getting free food?

This is totally unAfrican, no they should respect old people. That is why I would like President Museveni to rest but some people like Allan and Gook want the man to work, may be until he also pisses on his pants, no I don't like that. Old men should be allowed to retire with dignity. Now when Mugabe pisses in public like that, it is the people of Zimbabwe to hold the shame; I don't want that for anybody or Ugandan for that matter.

Release the old man, guys!

July 8, 2016 (JUBA) – Clashes between South Sudan’s rival forces loyal to President Salva Kiir and those loyal to the First Vice President, Riek Machar, have left nearly 150 soldiers dead from both sides.

The heavy fighting occurred on Friday near J1, the Presidential Palace, between troops of the South Sudanese army (SPLA) and protection unit of the First Vice President, Machar, of the SPLA in Opposition.

Sources said at least 150 people were confirmed dead on both sides.

“We counted about 35 of the SPLA-IO soldiers lying dead and over 80 died from the SPLA’s side. But this was not the total figure,” a senior military officer from President Salva Kiir’s faction told Sudan Tribune on Friday evening.

“It looked as if all the bodyguards of the First Vice President who were deployed on the street outside J1 were killed,” he added.

Friday’s fighting near the Presidential Palace was the most deadly clash since formation of the transitional government in South Sudan.

Asked to confirm the figure of those who lost their lives during the Friday’s confrontation, Machar’s spokesperson, James Gatdet Dak, said he did not receive report on the number of those killed, but added that there were “heavy” casualties.

“I have not received an official figure of those who were killed. I have however learned that the casualties were heavy from both sides,” he added.

The fighting occurred while President Kiir and his deputy, Machar, were in a meeting inside the Palace.

A huge force came from nowhere and joined up with President Kiir’s tiger force and opened fire on Machar’s bodyguards deployed outside the Palace for protection.

However, their bodyguards who were inside the palace did not turn against one another.

The two leaders, trapped inside the palace, were later on seen making a joint press statement condemning the fighting and claiming that none of them had knowledge about the cause of the clashes outside the palace.

But sources told Sudan Tribune that the incident seemed to have been pre-planned to coincide with the presidency meeting as a revenge on the Thursday’s incident in which five SPLA soldiers lost their lives.

Machar safely returned to his Jebel Kujur base, escorted by President Kiir’s forces in what was seen as a humiliation to suggest that they had spared his life.

All has happily ended now, unless there was a wounded Iraqi who insulted a British soldier there. Of course that Iraqi needs to be prosecuted for the safe of the world sir.

Don't forget that Sir Blair is among the famous counsels to the best president of great Rwanda.

Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has just said sorry for the 2003 Iraq invasion. This comes as the Iraq Inquiry released it's long awaited report this morning. The investigation has taken 7 long years.
"I express more sorrow, regret and apology than you may ever know." - Blair said.
Let it be known that until today, he had refused any criminal responsibility.
However he still refuses to accept that the war on Iraq has led to more terrorism around the world. He also refuses to admit that the soldiers he sent to battle on flimsy and false grounds, died in vain.
Now I would like to see if the African Union can write a simple letter officially requesting the ICC to prosecute a Western leader for once.

(Below is a brief summary of the statement issued this morning upon the release of the Iraq Inquiry)

The questions for the Iraq Inquiry were:
- whether it was right and necessary to invade Iraq in March 2003;
- and whether the UK could – and should – have been better prepared for what followed.
The report concluded that the UK chose to join the invasion of Iraq before peaceful options for disarmament had been exhausted. Military action at that time was not a last resort.
The report also concluded that:
- The judgements about the severity of the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction – WMD – were presented with a certainty that was not justified.
Despite explicit warnings, the consequences of the invasion were underestimated. The planning and preparations for Iraq after Saddam Hussein were wholly inadequate, and the Government failed to achieve its stated objectives.
Mr Blair had secretely suggested to Mr. Bush that the US and the UK should work on what he described as a "clever strategy" for regime change in Iraq.
By April 2002, the UK's Joint Intelligence Committee had concluded that Saddam Hussein could not be removed without an invasion.
The UK Government was stating that Iraq was a threat that had to be dealt with. It had to disarm or be disarmed.
That implied the use of force if Iraq did not comply – and internal contingency planning for a large contribution to a military invasion had begun. Yet the circumstances in which it was decided that there was a legal basis for UK military action were far from satisfactory.
The Iraq Inquiry sought to set out the Government's actions on Iraq. The evidence is there for all to see. An intervention which went badly wrong, with consequences to this day.
In March 2003:
- There was no imminent threat from Saddam Hussein.
- The strategy of containment could have been adapted and continued for some time.
- The majority of the Security Council supported continuing UN inspections and monitoring.
